Leslie Jones

Leslie Jones was a prolific photographer in the Boston area in the 20th century. He was modest, preferring to call himself a camera-man rather than a photo-journalist, but today his expansive collection of photographs (nearly 40,000 photographic negatives were given to the Boston Public Library by his family) are a stunning pictorial document of the history of Boston. You can browse much of the collection here and admire his range from animal photography, to pictures of Amelia Earhart and aerial accidents to police photographs from the Prohibition era. However, since it is January and the world outside my room is rather chilly today I'm focusing on his winter photographs.
